Our mission is to bring Muslims closer to understanding “the other”. Being able to embrace and not fear different beliefs and practices to ours. Creating a platform where Muslims can learn about each other and where non-Muslims can learn of the diversity within Islam and amongst Muslims.

Many Different Muslims is an organisation that approaches, confronts, and deals with the misconceptions Muslims may have of each other. Our work encourages the coming together and learning about the many different Muslims, from individuals to schools of thought; past and present.

We have two ultimate ambitions; one is to create a stronger Ummah, Muslim community, by bringing all Muslims together despite their differences of opinion on small or large matters. We do not wish to put the division of denominations and sects in a negative light, but rather, teach that within Islam, or any other religion, faith or belief, division is inevitable and that this fact ought not to lead us into fearing individuals or communities that are different to us but to embrace these differences, learn from each other, and more importantly learn with each other.

Our second ambition is to share with non-Muslims the facts, details and experiences of the many different Muslims we have come across or yet to come across. We, as an organisation, do not wish to represent all Muslims, but aspire to offer platforms where individuals and organisations can represent their self in light of their own Islamic school of thought which they associate themselves with. We wish to spread knowledge and minimise ignorance of the many different kinds of Muslims, past and present.

MDM would like to hear the voices of Muslims and the of those belonging to other faiths and traditions; religious or not.

MDM is here to eliminate misconceptions, stereotypes, hostility, aggression, and ignorance from within and outside the Muslim community. In achieving this, we achieve strength. And in achieving strength we master how to embrace love, understanding, patience, appreciation, and empathy.
